Another week, another arm on the move. In a special live edition of Fish Unfiltered, Miami Marlins insider Craig Mish joins Kevin Barral and Isaac Azout to discuss all angles of Tuesday's Ryan Weathers trade to the New York Yankees, plus the club's other recent transactions and remaining offseason to-do list.

You can find Fish On First LIVE on the Fish On First YouTube channelApple PodcastsSpotify or wherever else you get your pods. Our audio programming also includes The Offishial Show, Fish Unfiltered, Swimming Upstream and more.

In exchange for Weathers, the Marlins received Yankees prospects Dillon Lewis, Brendan Jones, Dylan Jasso and Juan Matheus. Lewis and Matheus were previously involved when these teams negotiated a potential Edward Cabrera deal earlier this month, according to Mish. Cabrera ultimately went to the Chicago Cubs instead.

Only a month away from the first full-squad workout of spring training, Mish believes that the Marlins' offseason activity is almost complete. "I still think that they may add a piece or two, very specifically to the bullpen...But I think you can start to paint a picture of the 26 guys who you'll see on Opening Day."

I think we're at the point now beyond individual transactions, which are often seemingly misplaced unless viewed as part of a overall strategy. Bendix told us his style is methodical, disciplined, and based on incremental improvements. All within the team's financial constraints, of course, which is obviously even more fluid than when he assumed his post. But, I think, Bendix has established credibility, even if not every move has been understandable or a clear win for the Marlins. The latter is unrealistic. Accordingly, I am onboard with the vector that is materializing under Bendix. Let's face it, it will be quite impressive if he wins with the well-known limitations in Miami. Use whatever metaphor you wish, but such success is ten times more satisfying than the Dodgers winning with 3x the average MLB payroll. I badly want to participate in that triumph as a fan who heard the hoots and laughter. It would be delicious.

You are an IDIOT. Is there any way to block your account so I don't have to read your garbage? Actually I have a better idea: time for me to quit this website. You are probably Bendix posting under another name. This is a minor league franchise whose purpose is to develop players for other teams.

Craig Mish, Bendix, and Sherman should all be B-I-T-C-H slapped by Marlin fans. Mish is a disgusting piece of crap sycophant who LOVES EVERYTHING THE MARLINS FRONT OFFICE DOES. He is a disgrace and if he worked in a real baseball town they would have run him out of town a long time ago.

I have requested my account here to be deleted. I'm done with this team after over 30 years of BULLS-HIT I have finally had enough. Maybe if Bendix and Sherman are gone I'll come back, but until then, I'M DONE WITH THIS TEAM & THIS WEBSITE that just SWALLOWS the Front Office's SWILL and says "MORE!"

Will evaluate this trade in 3 years.

Speaking of 3 years, it was 2023 when Ng traded Garrett Cooper, who’s now retired, & Sean Reynolds, who will be playing in Japan this year, for Weathers so I grade this as a W for the Marlins.

Taking a trip down memory lane, I recall thinking the Arraez trade to S.D. was a bad trade. In light of Marsee’s limited success and the fact that Arraez is now a f.a., advantage Marlins, despite the fact that Marsee finished the season in a 2-26 slump.

@THOMAS JOSEPH Well said, all of us must be patient.

If we win one more Championship, we will have won the most amongst N.L East teams.

We all would love that for all they spend in NY and Philly, plus Braves success with only two titles during such a mostly consistent run.

That's true, and often overlooked, just as the Marlins' playoff appearances in this decade are.

Exactly the right view of trades. We fans often have knee-jerk reactions, which are understandable. Moreover, we have no knowledge of internal assessments and the like.
