  1. Unfortunately, the Marlins will only be able to split the series 2-2. The series MVP will be Sandy Alcantara, who will start Sunday and won’t be traded.
  2. Unfortunately, the Phillies win the series 2-1. Bryson Stott will be the series MVP.
  3. Unfortunately, the Padres win the series 2-1. Jackson Merrill will be the series MVP.
  4. Unfortunately, the Astros win the series 2-1. Yordan Alvarez will be the series MVP.
  5. With Bender, Ekness, Kempner, King, Nardi all on the I.L. & Fairbanks struggling, the bullpen is starting to get a little thin. Marlins could really use Tyler back there. Just sayin….. Also should mention, haven’t heard an update on Michael Petersen.
  6. Unfortunately, the Brewers win the series 2-1. Brice Turang will be the series MVP.
  7. The Marlins draft pick comparison I would make is Khalil Watson. A H.S. shortstop who had a top 5 ranking by some, yet fell to the Marlins as the #16 overall pick. Very similar situation to Lombard. That year, the Marlins had a competitive balance round A pick (#31 overall), which they used on another H.S. player, Joe Mack.
  8. The Marlins will win the series 2-1. Heriberto will be the series MVP.
  9. The Marlins win this series 2-1. Liam Hicks will be the series MVP.
  10. Unfortunately, Sacramento wins the series 2-1. Nick Kurtz will be the series MVP.
  11. The Marlins will win the series 3-1. Xavier Edwards will be the MVP.
  12. Out of this group, would take either southpaw, Aroldis or Ray. Other than John King, no LH starter or reliever (not counting Cade Gibson).
  13. Two ‘if’s’. If the Marlins don’t trade Sandy at the deadline (hopefully they don’t) and if a salary floor is in place next year, the odds of a Sandy extension go way up.
  14. Unfortunately, the Cardinals win the series 2-1. NL ROY & All-Star 2nd base candidate J.J. Wetherholt will be the series MVP.
  15. Hard to imagine a scenario where a Clayton McCollough managed team loses a series to a Skip Schumaker managed team. Marlins win the series 2-1. Xavier Edwards will be the series MVP.
  16. The Marlins will win the series 2-1. In a stunning development, Owen Caissie will be the MVP of the series.
  17. Unfortunately, the Phillies will win the series 2-1. Kyle Schwarber will be the series MVP.
  18. Unfortunately, the Pirates will win the series 2-1. Spencer Horwitz will be the series MVP.
  19. No question, IMO, that Otto is an All-Star. Has a better WAR & DWAR than his main competition, C.J. Abrams & Elly De La Cruz. The one thing they have over Otto is the power numbers, which are a factor. The Marlins fan base is smaller, so this could factor in, as to whether Otto gets voted in, though the D.C. & Cinci fan bases aren’t huge.
  20. Unfortunately, Arizona wins the series 2-1. Corbin Carroll will be the series MVP.
  21. Unfortunately, the Rays win the series 2-1. Yandy Diaz will be the series MVP.
  22. Due to this story, I crawled down a bit of a rabbit hole looking at the Marlins 2021 draft, checking to see where these players are now. Joe Mack, the #31 overall pick in 2021, is currently the only player from this draft on the MLB roster. Patrick Monteverde, the 8th rd pick in 2021, came up for a cup of coffee last year and could be up for another one this year. There are 5 additional 2021 draft picks who are still with the Marlins organization, according to ‘The Baseball Cube’. Sam Praytor 6th rd, Gabe Bierman 7th rd, Brandon White 12th rd, Holt Jones 14th rd, & Bennett Hostetler 18th rd. There are 2 Marlins 2021 draft picks who are with other organizations. Khalil Watson, the Marlins #1 pick in 2021 is currently with the Columbus Clippers, Cleveland’s AAA team. Could see him in MLB later this season. The Marlins 11th rd pick in 2021, Jesse Bergin, is listed as being in the FCL in the Twins organization, according to ‘The Baseball Cube’. The remaining 12 draft picks — there were 21 total — are f.a.’s or retired.
  23. Unfortunately, the Nats win the series 2-1. James Wood will be the series MVP.
  24. The Marlins win the series 2-1. Xavier Edwards will be the series MVP.
  25. A much needed ‘W’ for @Ely Sussman A tough call, on who wins this upcoming Marlins-Mets series.
