I make no bones about not liking Morel. He's a Chisholm-esque prima donna, imo. Still, I want him to go well for the team's sake, of course. I think not, a la Anderson. It's an inexpensive, low-risk shot that I understand. Based on the show comments, De los Santos has been somewhat rejuvenated in the Marlin plans. He's had a productive winter ball stats. Morel could be a reclamation project success or simply the bridge to Deyvison. I hope it's the latter and Morel is gone quickly, so he can take his self-absorption elsewhere.

I hope it not anther eric wagaman  story.  That hurts the Marlins in First half again . Do think Marlins Have to come away with 3 to 4 More wins in first Half.   THEN trade bait. cause 1 year deal. But looks like high strikeout guy.  that will hurt. Has to improve on hitting doubles cause power not their.  If anything spring training will tell all.  But not on board with Starting someone because of Winter ball.

It's actually a very GOOD THING that the Marlins have not made any moves other than this BS move for Morel. If this was a website for any REAL baseball team, the Morel signing would have gotten maybe a one line comment:

"Red Sox (or Braves, Dodgers, Mets, Yankees, etc) signed free agent Christopher Morel for 2 million dollars. He is expected to compete for a roster spot in the spring".

But since this is the pathetic Marlins, we have to make a BIG DEAL out of this: "MARLINS MAKE A MOVE!" When I first saw that headline I got worried that maybe we traded some promising prospect for a washed up Plaido Polanco type, or this year's Heath Bell. Hopefully this is the last of the "moves" the Marlins make, unless they can convince some IDIOT TO TAKE ERIC WAGABUM OFF OUR HANDS.

long reliever janson junk  he not a Starter.  who else moves is the point ?

Witch to me would leave Marlins looking at one more reliever . who not a project.

Which player should Marlins pickup ?  fun one to me is Kazuma Okamoto doubles should be their

Will someone offer the right trade packet for Eward think price be higher at trade deadline

The Morel signing pretty much confirms that the Marlins will not be signing a legit first baseman.

For now, the Marlins will continue to use first base as a dumping ground for players who don’t have a position or are fringe MLBers (Wagaman, Hicks, Morel, possibly Agustin or Conine).

I'm of the same mind regarding winter ball veracity. Bruján had excellent Dominican League stats, if memory serves. Another point you made - one extra win per month last season and there's the playoff-goal 85 wins. But, as we know, every year starts from scratch. Merry Christmas.
