    Another FA contract disaster - Jordan Montgomery. MLB GMs epitomize foolishness, literally throwing darts and hoping with a rabbit's foot. This is multiplied with pitchers, but the decade-long mega deals are millstones around team necks, too. So very few of the deals are positive vis-á-vis the financial commitments made that I seriously question the basic competency of the top executives in the industry. Perhaps we should offer owner vanity and fear of MLBPA complaints as factors in the repetitive lunacy. Oh, well. Not our money and it is entertaining.

    There's no reason to overact on Stowers, given how the season is aligning. We need the power. Give him plenty of leeway. All we need is another early dump, a la Bleday. What's the damn urgency? Frankly, I've seen too much Spring Training to go wild over a good one or despair over a poor one. The only exception is a player that is out of shape or mentally uninterested.

    The Miami Herald guy wants spending. If he owned the team, would he reach into his own bank account for player contracts? If the team shouldn't stand on its own revenue, why not? How much does the team actually make? Twenty million dollars net? Great. We can sign Kiner-Falefa.

    Damn. Those sliders look great. Definitely looking for them on my LDP visits this year. I was glad to see LMF on the Locked on Marlins podcast. I also noticed his avatar on the last FOF live show on X. Surely, the odd circumstances around the Marlins Minor League POTY won't continue. I read your full article thinking the earned more opportunities and it was a shame that circumstances in Miami ,mitigated against them.

    I hope the record-setting number of players used because of all the trades and injuries isn't eclipsed, but the roster's bound to be more fluid than most teams. With the young composition and competitiveness at some positions apparent, we should welcome the opportunities as much as the players will.

    I have to agree that he looks like minor league depth right now. We figure to see him in Miami, though, soon enough given the injury proclivities in MLB.

    Against all odds, I have a feeling that Johnston is one of the standouts in ST. Will it be enough? Hope so.

    I would most definitely attend FanFest if I lived in South Florida. We attended the Reds every year when I was young and it was a blast.

    The lower numbers speak to belonging in the league. To my mind, that designation goes up to 49, although I realize there are some notable exceptions (Unit #51, Judge #99, Fisk #72 come to mind).
