    Six games with the Nationals bode well for a nice September success foundation - led by the amazing Marsee. Let's go all out to cement an overachieving season and some fine individual accomplishments.

    Marlins win the series two games to one. Connor Norby returns with a vengeance to claim MVP. Looking forward to the post-game show changeup. Happy Labor Day.

    I liked the old days when 10 guys would come up. There weren't enough seats in the dugout - it looked like Spring Training. Of course, pitchers hit back then, so there were more moves, and there's the larger payroll commitment nowadays.

    Excellent news. Improvements and drawing cards in the LDP area may be late, but important. To my mind, there's no reason the associated development area can't improve both attendance and the fan experience.

    Very satisfactory outing by Mazur, especially as the Mets are riding high after their sweep of the Phillies. Big lift for the Marlins in the series.

    I love the Marlins pitchers finally growing a pair. I'd start off every game with the Braves by plunking Acuña in the ribs. Not only does he richly deserve it, but it makes the point that the doormat is not out anymore.

    Fans want to discuss such things. To me, though, it's like marrying a girl after one date. Also, let's see what comes from the CBA after next season. One full season under Marsee's belt will be helpful, and the new agreement may significantly change the team's payroll strategy.

    I really dislike Boston and Boston teams.

    Perhaps both teams will benefit according to their respective strategies. The Marlins are obviously progressing, we see it clearly now. For the Padres, the top spot in the NL West may very well be a precursor to their first WS title. The Friars and Expos were 1969 expansion colleagues. I would also be fine with the Brewers as NL representatives in the WS. A title for the Crew would likewise be their first. No Dodgers, Mets, or Phillies in the NL. No Yankees or Red Sox in the AL.

    Being a proper superstitious baseball fan, I will continue to predict Marlins series losses and ludicrous/unlikely MVPs during this fine streak the team is on. In case anyone cares, yes, I know Austin Riley is on the IL. PS - These next two weeks' games are immensely weighted and quite interesting. Is it the path to a WC berth or the proverbial brick wall for these surprising young Marlins?

    Hate the feeling of this series. Braves take 4 of 5. Austin Riley is MVP. Ugh.

    Good dude. Right back at him for his personal success and for the Astros. I can definitely root for them over any of the likely WS-capable teams in either league.

    The PH homers were the fun if the night. The Marlins and their fans can't expect to win every remaining game, especially against one of the league's best teams. Keep an even keel, as they used to say. Quantrill is a pitch-to-contact guy, so the defense must be on this evening.
