  1. I'd give Kelly Sako a shot at the play by play. I'd pair her with Rod Allen.
  2. The team should know what they have in Fulton at this point. He should pretty much be in the best shape of his life.
  3. I was very happy with Chisholm's all star play at second base. Some of Arraez's impact with the Marlins was lost due to the dropoff from Jazz to Arraez at that position.
  4. Yes, it does. Simon, Sanoja, Edwards, Lopez, Serna are all members of the Lollipop Guild. And I'm a fan of Munchkin Land! Speed and defense works for me. Simon winning the MVP of the DWL is huge to me. Nobody hits for s*** in that league.
  5. I'd give De Lost Santos about a 20% chance of being a 1.00 OPS+, or average, major league hitter at some point. He has a couple years in AAA to work things out.
  6. Does anyone know how much Peter Bendix is being paid? I'm guessing it's damn little.
  7. I wonder if the new manager will take a cut in pay moving from LA first base coach to Marlins Manager? Wouldn't surprise me.
  8. The fact that the new manager already resides in Jupiter is plenty of reason to take the Marlins job, in and of itself.
  9. All the guys linked to the Marlins job have something in common: No Managerial Experience. Nobody knows how any of them will handle the hot seat. Actually, it's barely even a warm seat in Miami, so not all that much pressure.
  10. "Potentially" great was my description. Do I forecast that? Heck nl.
  11. Undesirable? Maybe. However, managerial jobs are in short supply and many coaches out there would love one of those precious jobs. While the Marlins have a s***** lineup, they have a potentially great pitching staff. That's something. The new Marlins manager will not have to suffer the pressure of winning either. I'd like to see someone like Juan Pierre come out of the woodwork. A manager that's focused on small ball - bunting, base-stealing, and defense - would have some personnel to work with such as Edwards, Lopez, Sanoja, Myers and Serna.
  12. Seeing how a 4.50 ERA would be considered a disappointment for any of the starters you have projected, I don't see where hiring Junis would be helpful. I would prefer to see how Mazur, Snelling and Meyer fare in the spring once they receive tutelage from their new coaches, whomever they may be.
  13. For me, the team would look a whole lot better if Teel had been drafteded over Noble Meyer. How in the hell do you pass on anther Adley Rutschman?
  14. Dax Fulton is a must-protect prospect. No way I trade Cabrera. He could very well be one of the team's top pitchers next season.Same goes for Luzardo. He, along with Alcantara, Garrett, Cabrera and Weathers make up the rotation to start the 2025 season. Mazur, Snelling and Meyer are in the wings. No way I protect Stowers, Hill or Conine. Brujan has disrproven himself over and over.
  15. Lefties Snelling and White. Which will have the better career? Could be a toss-up.
  16. Marlins can field an exciting, interesting team with existing talent. One thing that can be relied upon is speed. A starting lineup that would feature Sanoja, Meyers, Sanchez in the OF and Edwards and Lopez in the IF would keep strikeouts to a minimum (except for Sanchez), play good defense, and steal 20-50 bases each. I am clearly in the minority, but I see Mack behind the plate with Fortes. Mack actually outperformed what Realmuto did in the minors at the same age. Alcantara, Luzardo, Garrett, Cabrera, Weathers, Meyer, Snelling, Oller, Bellozo, etc., along with Perez should provide ample rotation depth even if three or four bite the dust.
  17. Don't know why Norby couldn't play left field. He isn't good enough to play at third. Otto Lopez was all world at second base and his offense is just starting to shine. Another option is first base. The Marlins need a first sacker who can catch the short hops and prevent infield errors. Imagine how much stronger Edwards' numbers at short would look if not for the egregious misplays by Burger and Bride. First basemen like Freeman, Goldschmidt,, Guerrero, etc. make those catches routinely.
  18. Based on WAR and OPS+, Xavier Edwards left Arraez in his dust this season. Hopefully, Arraez will most be remembered for the prospects that Miami received in the trade that sent him to the Padres.
  19. Rotation: 1) Alcantara 2) Luzardo 3) Garrett 4) Cabrera 5) Weathers 6) Snelling 7) Meyer 8) Oller 9) Bellozo Expect Alcantara to be traded if he begins the season with high success rate, same for Luzardo Catcher: Joe Mack, Fortes and Ramirez 1b De Los Santo, Connor Nordy 2b Lopez ss Edwards 3b Bride rf Sanchez platoon with RHB cf Dane Meyers lf Conine platoon with RHB
  20. Hard to see playing time for the Marlin delegation. They'll get the required minimum innings, I guess.
  21. White, Snelling and Fulton can be bunched 2-4. Max Meyer, Mazur, Noble Meyer and Sanoja come next - in any order. Complete the top ten with Ramirez and De: Los Santos, I guess.
  22. Who will back up Joe Mack next season? Ramirez, Ignofo, or Fortes? Where will the Marlins find three starting outfielders (or 2 1/2 if Sanchez is kept to platoon)?
  23. What are the chances of De Los Santos becoming an average Major Leaguer? I'd go with about 15%. White, Snelling, Mazur, Noble Meyer, Dax Fulton. Which of them becomes an average Major Leaguer? I'm hoping for two or three. Alcantara, Perez, Cabrera, Weathers, Luzardo, Garrett, Max Meyer. Is there a healthy rotation there for the start of next season? Does Meyer head to the pen? Will Alcantara and Luzardo be traded by midseaon?
