  1. Remember that Dax Fulton is out there. He was outstanding in his last outing and yes, it was his only strong outing this season, but the potential is there.
  2. I don't think I'm the only Marlin fan that thinks this way, but dumping Troy Johnston seemed inexplicable. The fact that Stowers seemed to suddenly blossom at his age should have sent a signal to the front office regarding Johnston. Naturally, Johnston out produced every hitter on the Marlins this spring. 2026 team record: 70-92
  3. Don't know if Paddack has other fans, but I am thrilled to have him back with the Marlins. I followed every one of his A Ball starts for the Marlins, where he shined like another Fernandez. What I love most is that he throws strikes, a talent that is missing in Miami. I'm looking for sub-4 ERA from him this season.
  4. I'd like to see the pitchers throw strikes. I was thinking about this again yesterday when Braxton Garrett and Thomas White were throwing darts at a target and missing the entire wall. Good grief! You are baseball throwers, guys. You had all winter to figure out how to throw the dang ball over the plate.
  5. Because that felt like an awful trade to me (Weathers), he bears watching. 1H, 0 W, and 5 K yesterday ... for the damn Yankees! Because it also felt like an awful trade to me (Cabrera), he'll also bear watching. He hasn't thrown yet, but Caissie is almost perfect with the whiffs.
  6. There are no statistics that suggest that the Marlins did well in the trades of Weathers and Cabrera. Ownership has stated that winning is the top priority, yet shipping out those two players simply makes it harder to win. There is no assurance that Caissie will be an above average player this year or in the future. Lewis, who is yet to play in even AA, is a real long shot.
  7. Conine basically went 0 - Winter League at Dominican Republic. Pitchers are nowhere near MLB quality, but that didn't stop Conine from being about the worst hitter on the entire island.
  8. I like Otto a lot. Curious as to where he will hit in the lineup. My hunch is that he will hold down the nine spot.
  9. Paddack's initial seasons with the Marlins were beyond brilliant. Broke my heart too see him shipped out for Fernando Rodney. It will be great to have a Marlins starter that doesn't walk anybody and maybe, just maybe, he will turn into something special this season!
  10. Well, with Cabrera and Weathers in the rotation to start 2026, along with Alcantara and Perez, the Marlins still had to find a fifth starter. Now they have to find a third, fourth and fifth. The pitching staff has been sacrificed for nothing in terms of competing this season. Which makes the signing of Fairbanks seem really odd. On the trade front, the returns for Cabrera and Weathers seemed very light. The baseball trades website, which is traditionally very close in matching trade values, showed the Marlins as getting totally fleeced.
