Miami Marlins 2026 draft pick signings and bonus pool tracker

The Miami Marlins made 21 selections earlier this month in the 2026 MLB Draft. On this page, Fish On First will be tracking their efforts to reach deals with their 2026 class.

The Marlins had a bonus pool of $11,960,100. They were allowed to spend up to 5% above that—a total of $12,558,105—without forfeiting future picks. They ultimately used $12,102,600 of pool money.

Dollar amounts in bold counted toward the Marlins' bonus pool.

I'm hopeful the Marlins sign Sasaki. At his age his choices should be about chasing the dream rather than the money. I still think they should pay him over slot out of respect for the fact he has other choices.

If you count Sasaki at $260,000 (and all the others are correct), we have to sign Kozeal for $292,205 or we lose our 1st rd pick next year.  I've given up all hope on the 20th pick.  What am I missing here?

I figured it out.  Apparently you only count amounts over $150k for rounds 11-20 towards the bonus pool.  So we have more money than I thought. If the Sasaki $260k rumor is true, we have $1,374,705 left before we have to forfeit a pick.  

If Kozeal signs at slot, we would have $595,005 to throw at Lawson (if Sherman is willing to pay the Luxury Tax penalty on the 5% overage).  If Sherman wants to remain cheap, we could offer Kozeal $776,600 and Lawson $150k.  These 2 negotiations will probably go to the wire.  I'm sure we eventually sign Kozeal.  Not so sure about Lawson.  I'm sure UNC is putting together a package for him.
