Designated for assignment by the Marlins last week, Simpson was traded to the Seattle Mariners for cash considerations. The 28-year-old left-hander had spent his entire professional career in the Marlins org. In 31 MLB relief appearances in 2025, Simpson posted a 5.35 FIP (7.34 ERA) in 30 ⅔ innings pitched.

Micheal King and others will be looking at how they perform . half way throught spring traing. that are pickups like him.  lot of pickups that marlins could fix .   any improvement are not.  Griffen conine will be fun to watch at first.   his left feild defence should help. it just speed and picking  up grounders . we know he my not play at high leavel like he did before the injure. of last year.    Be watching  how they use Jason Junk also.

It's not difficult to pronounce that everything depends on the team's start. Not only does that affect the trade deadline strategy, but also a half-dozen player vectors. I think the short leashes will continue. Who will grab the brass ring and who will stumble?
