Entering year 15 at loanDepot park, the Miami Marlins are still dealing with a familiar problem regarding home attendance. The mediocre quality of the product on the field and location of the venue are among the factors that perennially have the Fish finishing with the fewest spectators in the National League.

It isn't for a lack of effort. Miami's marketing department turns a large share of regular season home games into special events, plus Marlins ticket prices always rank among the cheapest in Major League Baseball.

The following table will expand as more special events and theme games are confirmed.

Ely or anybody who knows, I can't make it to opening day. There are events here in Tallahassee take precedence for me that weekend.

Nevertheless, I would love to have one of those Kyle Stowers bobbleheads. I will pay something, but not a lot, for it. So, does anybody have any thoughts on how to get one? EBay? Does anyone have experience with purchasing fan promotions online?

This reminds me of how and when I became a Miami fan.

I was on spring break with my family, and we were driving all over Florida for a week. My dad is a Mets fan and on 4/2/2011 we decided to drive to Miami to watch the Mets vs Marlins which was the second game of the season. The Mets had high expectations at the time because they had Bay, Beltran, Davis, K-rod, Reyes, Wright, and new manager Terry Collins.

I remember watching the game and immediately thinking wow when I saw Ramirez effortlessly slice an opposite field double off Niese in the first inning. It was a great game, Bonifácio was a menace hitting and played 3 different positions throughout the game and Niese and Nolasco both pitched 7 innings, each giving up 2 earned runs. Later in the game Dobbs tied the game with two outs in the bottom on the 9th with a pinch hit single against K-rod. The Marlins would go on to lose 6-4 in the 10th, but their talent and tenacity stood out.

After the game the Marlins held an awesome Pitbull concert, which was right at around the time he became Mr. Worldwide and made hit after hit. Between the concert, game, going swimming at North Beach, and seeing all the Bosh, Haslam, James and Wade jerseys I began cheering for Miami.

Attached is the 4/2/2011 game recap:

eBay is your best bet. I’ve purchased most of my Marlins’ bobble heads there.
