Bleday Says it All

Would any Marlin fan want JJ Bleday as an everyday player? I sure wouldn't, but that tells the story of the Marlins misery.

Bleday is hitting about .240 with 9 homers and a .320 OBP. The resulting OPS is better than ANY Marlin! How pathetic is that?

And there is no visible means of escape. Nobody to trade. Luzardo's value has suddenly tanked. Nobody wants Josh Bell for his money or even a third of it. Burger has fallen off a cliff. Jesus Sanchez is simply not going to work out ... not even for the Marlins. The team is utterly devoid of offense from the catchers. De La Cru is having his best season and still couldn't attract a good prospect from any other team.

All the Marlins can logically do is put Otto Lopez, Xavier Edwards, and Javier Sanoja on the field and focus on small ball - literally.

It's hard to believe we traded an ace away for Jazz (1.0 WAR) and traded away Bleday (1.8 WAR) for a struggling RP.  Jazz and Bleday are the same age and play the same position.  Bleday has 2 more years of control.

Lots of relievers to sell! Of course, none of the individually will bring back a substantial return. I expect the objective to me bundling them a la Bass and Pop to the Blue Jays (only with a better target than Groshans in mind).
