Fortes and Hedges. A brick wall behind and at the plate. I'd rather give Banfield, Allen and Macintosh shots. maybe take a shot on Joey Bart on the cheap. Anything except another year of sub .600 batting.

Hey! I think some other team will pay Lugo more than the Marlins can/will offer. The one SP our FO will go after should have more or less the same profile as Cueto.

 

Hedges: He is great defensively but it was excruciating to watch both Fortes and Stallings for an entire season. No, thanks. Maybe bring him as a catcher/bullpen coach?

 

Canha: I think he can have more or less the same role as Gurriel this year, with the plus of been able to play LF and 1B. That said, he will get ymore than $7M per year, and I’m not sure Sherman will spend that money on a role-type player.

Bart is an intriguing target because of how much his value has dropped the last 2 years. He doesn't fit the organization's preference for contact hitting, but if he's essentially a waiver claim at this point, that may be too tempting to pass up.
