  1. Why talk about reassigning Sandy's money when the answer is having a major league budget. Caba is overmatched at the plate as is Cappe, Salas and every other skinny teenager they trade for or draft. Happily for me, they finally went college this year in the draft, so for me trading Sandy is only an option if we get a 20+ top 50 and 2 younger pieces. There is the makings of a good team here. The Snelling ballyhoo has died down over the last 2 years. A 5th starter at best and White has been innings limited to the point where it is hard to imagine him being a solid starter next year. Even with Sandy as a 4th starter innings eater, Perez, Cabrera, Weathers, Garret is a playoff starting 5 with Junk as a maybe. McSweeney has been amazing at AAA coming from nowhere. They always cobble together a decent bullpen of veterans, low minors, etc. and there are some pieces in the minors with Henriquez as a closer and Bellozo in long relief. The keystone is set. Mack will catch next year with Ramirez, maybe keep Fortes and Stowers looks for real. Myers is fading back into his advanced stats and I'd like to see him, Bender on a high, Faucher all traded for whatever. Hernandez / Sanchez is a solid platoon. Marsee has the Sanchez problem with lefties, so no sure about him. Dump Wagamon. Norby doesn't impress me, but still maybe. Never know why Sanoja didn't get a full year at AAA. Get mediocre vets to man CF, 3B, 1B in addition to a playoff level staff and have a solid next season. Trade from excess arms if Snelling and/or White pan out and pray for Noble Myer.
  2. The makings of a good staff are there: Perez Cabrera Weathers Junk Alcantara with Braxton back next year all under 30 Bullpen has a decent mix Stowers - Ramirez - Lopez - Edwards are 4 27 year olds to build around Marsee and Mack could be ready next year. Give Johnston a try already I would like to see us start adding instead of constantly tearing it down.
  3. Agree that Mazur is next man up, but with Weathers coming back, I'd like to see Snelling move to AAA. Looking back, Marsee was better earlier in his career. Hopefully last year was just a blip on the radar. He's even showing some power this season. Edwards or Lopez will be traded down the road, because X is not a shortstop.
  4. Marlins trade Luzardo at his lowest value for 2 guys who couldn't it out of the park at a little league field.
  5. "Alcantara, Luzardo, Cabrera, Weathers and Garrett are a nice starting five for 2025" Agreed. Let those 5 start the season - all need to prove who they are -while we wait for Perez. Maybe even a 6 man rotation after that. I'd trade Myer yesterday if possible, but gotta give him a chance after his $$demotion last year ignored a great start. Weathers could be a staple. If we have a few bats I'd be excited
