  1. As you said, you take Josh White without a doubt.
  2. Alcantara, Perez, Cabrera, Weathers, Junk, Garrett, Snelling, and Meyer, along with the five best relievers from last season, would make for a formidable staff to start the 2026 season.
  3. Clearly, the Yankees didn't offer their young OF Dominguez for Alcantara or a trade would have been completed. Personally, I would trade Sandy in March, especially if he gets off to a hot spring start.
  4. Lewin Diaz was all-world in the Korean League last season. 50 HR! He's a great glove at first. I'd certainly grab him as my major platoon guy at 1B,
  5. I am all for signing Lewin Diaz. He may have discovered something with his bat overseas and his glove has always been golden.
  6. Mesa Jr seems like he's a clear third man in the OF.
  7. Brutal offensive numbers down the line. The transition to wood bats must be difficult.
  8. Would that be the same Rockies that swept the Marlins in Miami this season?
  9. I'd like to give Joey Weimer a go for the rest of the way.
  10. Can anyone come up with a reason NOT to bring Snelling up to start in Atlanta tonight? He's scheduled to go for JAX. He's been throwing strikes. There's a double header on Saturday. And 28 games in the next 29 days, which suggests that a six-man rotation would be in order.
  11. Given the 28 games in 29 days they are looking at, a six-man rotation wouldn't seem like a bad idea.
  12. With a double header coming up Saturday, the Marlins should be bringing Snelling up for his ML debut vs Atlanta tonight. Why the heck wouldn't they?
  13. I too think Alcantara will be successful tonight. However, he will need at least a couple running catches from the OF. Even in games that he has fared well, there have been lots of hard-hit balls.
  14. I understand your point, Alex, but the objectivity of it suffers when it comes on the heels of a three-game sweep that nobody expected.
  15. 2 homers and a double on Friday night. Benched yesterday and today. Pauley is playing in his stead. He has produced practically nada at the MLB level. I'm upset.
  16. Marlins sure don't need that package. Caissie and the pitcher for Cabrera and a relief pitcher. Then the Marlins hope that Caissie isn't a bust and the pitcher becomes a decent replacement for Cabrera.
  17. Needed college players because pretty much the entire AA and AAA rosters need to be replaced. There's just no major league talent lurking there.
  18. As a proponent of speed and solid defense all over the field, I'm ready to watch Marcee for the rest of the season. I would absolutely trade Jesus Sanchez at this point. My key trade chip would be Stowers. How about sending him to Seattle, which is allegedly looking for a lefty bat? The target there would be Harry Ford, who could platoon with Joe Mack at C and also play OF. The Marlins could then trade Nick Fortes and Liam Hicks. San Diego, in particular, is a potential destination for Hicks. I love Marsee hitting first and Edwards second.
  19. July rotation: Perez, Weathers, Alcantara, Snelling, Mazur, Meyer, Fitterer and Laskey. Starters go five with a goal of using one of the others for three or four innings to follow. Adios, Edward.
  20. Joe Mack should have joined the Marlins instead of Brantley. Absolutely no reason to wait on him. He's facing better pitching at AA than he would in AAA. Mazur and Snelling should have started the season in the rotation ahead of Quantrill and Gillaspie. The Marlins would have at least a .500 record right now. Fitterer and Laskey should also replace a couple bullpen guys and be used for four-inning relief stints. That's the right way to protect the pen.
