  1. Helsley just landed a 2 year $23 million dollar contract. If those are the numbers being handed out to late inning arms, Sherman is creeping out the back door and running for the hills.
  2. It’s good to see the Marlins at the very least kicking the tires on some possible contract extensions. Hopefully they can hit on one eventually.
  3. I’m not falling for it. No way the Marlins enter a bidding war for this guy. Pretty confident he has plenty of suitors.
  4. Good luck to him. Out OF isn't the problem. We'll be okay without him. I'm just not convinced that either Conine or Hernandez is the answer. Nevertheless, we have to let them play so we can see what we have. Let them play.
  5. It won't be the worst thing to do. Heck, some non-tender candidates can help this team. Nathaniel Lowe was pretty good after being traded to Boston. Given how bad our 1B production was last year, adding Lowe would STILL be an upgrade at the postion, even as much as he struggled. That says a lot about our 1B situation. Plus, it would be a way to upgrade the team while spending the least amount of money. That would make Sherman happy.
  6. Considering the financial limitations of this team, I appreciate this write-up. I am extremely pessimistic about Sherman's ability to open up his wallet. I'm at peace with that. Of the above list, my money is on Nathaniel Lowe being added to this team. Given his history with Bendix, I feel as if he's a lock. It fits the model of what Bendix is doing. Even though he struggled at the beginning of 2025, he bounced back after being traded to Boston. I think there is a match here. Additionally, he is an upgrade at 1B for the Fish regardless. The team would be better with him. Bendix will research the market before committing any finances to players. The suggestions you've put forth are where I'm mentally going. Bendix will look at non-tendered players before financially committing to free agency. Kudos!
  7. I ran an AI prediction. I asked it what it predicts the Marlins will do this offseason. The following were the results of the prediction: 📊 Total Simulated Spend & Roster Impact Player Simulated Contract Role Kyle Finnegan 1 yr / $6.25 M High-leverage reliever Brad Keller 2 yrs / $15 M Multi-inning bullpen depth Power Bat (O’Hearn) 1–2 yrs / $8–12 M Corner bat / DH Complementary Arm 1 yr / $1–3 M Development / bullpen flier Estimated Additional Spending: ~$15–18M on top of existing payroll, which may bring them close to—but likely not far over—their projected budget. Roster Effect: Bolsters bullpen significantly with veteran presence. Provides offensive depth / power without overcommitting long-term. Maintains financial flexibility for future seasons -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Looking at the numbers tied to each player, it appears that adding those four would surpass the $15-$18M spending cap the AI suggested. The math ain't mathing. Let's look at the numbers more closely based on the AI proposals: Finnegan (2 yrs at $6.5M) + Keller (2yrs at $15M) + O'Hearn (2yrs at +/- $20M) + a complementary arm (1 yr at +/- $2M) equates to about $26 million. I believe that this AI proposal is way over the dollar budget that Sherman will be willing to spend. Albeit it looks like a solid suggestion to improve the team with relatively modest boosts to the payroll. It sounds like a sound plan on the surface. But I do not believe that they will add $26 million this offseason. This FO is not there, even though it makes total sense. Your thoughts?
  8. I ran an AI experiment to see what the Marlins would do this offseason. Given the monetary constraints and all, this is what it came up with: Player Simulated Contract Role Kyle Finnegan 1 yr / $6.25 M High-leverage reliever Brad Keller 2 yrs / $15 M Multi-inning bullpen depth Power Bat (O’Hearn) 1–2 yrs / $8–12 M Corner bat / DH Complementary Arm 1 yr / $1–3 M Development / bullpen flier This would make me satisfied. Maybe take a flyer on Kopech? What do you think about this?

  10. When Nathaniel Lowe was released by the Red Sox, my mind went straight to Peter Bendix. Bendix and Lowe have a relationship from their time with the Rays. I could totally see Bendix tripping over himself to sign this guy. I have to say that O’Hearn is the better option. However, low may be a cheaper option that could allow Bendix to spend resources upgrading other areas.
  11. Marlins sweep. Phillies have already clinched. Hopefully they’re benching guys for the playoffs. Augustin MVP.
  12. Damn shame. Blaylock has been a fixture within that broadcast team. Tough loss for us all.
  13. I love the McMullen hire. But you are correct. Saco has earned that spot.
  14. I’m so happy that this is finally happening. I’m hoping that commemorative bobbleheads follow this season for each of them.
  15. Feels like Bendix got a solid player for Bruján. Hope it works out.
  16. Who are you, Laura Georgia? Absolutely love this piece. Looking forward to more from you. Keep up the great work!
