Signed by the Marlins in 2025 via international free agency ($35k bonus)
June 2025 update: Montero's fastball touches 97 mph and he could add further velocity as his skinny 6-foot-1 frame fills out. He shows some feel for a sweeper, and he is starting to find a changeup as well.
Montero has an easy, low-maintenance delivery and the athleticism to be a starting pitcher.
