I agree 100%. Here's what I have noticed: If you're not one of "Bendix's boys", someone Bendix either drafted, signed as a free agent, or traded for, you're likely to see your name put on the bottom of the deck. Bendix's boys get called up FIRST, and once here they get every chance to prove that Bendix is a genius for signing them, even if they are just average or below average players, like Wagaman & Pauley. This is so obvious but nobody says a thing, ESPECIALLY not Fish Stripes.

I think every baseball decision-maker is guilty of being biased like that toward their own guys. But it was worse during the Jeter era. They would waste entire seasons or parts of multiple seasons on terrible players (500 plate appearances of Isan Díaz being the most egregious example).

I trow a name that Jeter gave over 500 plate appearances to Lewis Brinson.  i wanted scream at the TV and Don M. EVERY time he came up  to bat.

You thought Isan Diaz was bad? Let me remind you about the 1056 plate appearances that Lewis Brinson had with the Marlins.

That's 756 plate appearances too many for a guy who had 6 seasons with a career wRC+ of 54. (4 seasons of which were spent with us)

They really tried to sell us on Lewis Brinson and their attempts backfired tremendously.

Isan Diaz. Started with a bang and finished with a whimper.
