Fish Unfiltered—Episode #63

Kevin Barral debriefs Fish On First reporters Isaac Azout and Alex Krutchik about the end-of-season press conference that president of baseball operations Peter Bendix held at loanDepot park on Tuesday.

Additional topics covered during our conversation:

Find Fish Unfiltered on the Fish On First YouTube channel, our new-look Apple Podcasts channel and wherever else you get your pods. FOF's audio programming also includes The Offishial Show, Swimming Upstream, Big Fish Small Pod and more.

As Isaac reported shortly after the podcast recording, there was a "bloodbath" of firings made by the Marlins following the press conference. Major league coaches from the 2024 season were let go along with clubhouse attendants and members of the performance staff.

I enjoyed the banter and insights in this episode. Well done, guys.

Made some comments on the YouTube channel.

Even as we fans are disappointed with the season record, Schumaker's departures, and others leaving the team, there is the normal anticipation. We even have the changeover at the Locked on Marlins channel.

For those of us not interested in football or basketball, the FOF coverage during the off-season is even more appreciated. I'll watch the AFL and Dominican League, too.

You mentioned not too much came out of the press conference with Mr. Bendix  The part I find concerning is the culture...It seems like they do not realize they are in a public business world that relies on fans.  Some of the decisions they make seem like they are closed off and not transparent.  I understand they cannot come out and say what they want to do or how they are going to do it but they can at least be more fan friendly, more press friendly and start doing positive things and saying positive thing, they seem hidden and very private in a business that that does not play well.
