I think Knizner and Bethancourt overlap a bit in terms of being glove-first catchers.

If this is a minor league deal with an invitation to ST, then great. But a guaranteed ML contract would probably mean Fortes will start next season in Jacksonville.

 

But still, there is little to none improvement on the offensive side… 😩

Knizner is a steal for the Marlins to sign. He is a better option than Bethancourt to be the starting catcher and the Cardinals made a big mistake non-tendering him.
