Well, you can't beat the cost of his acquisition, the reduced payroll hit, and the improvement based on the stat comparison. What's not to like here?

Only risk is complacency and going to camp believing this is sufficient depth. Important to also have a 3rd experienced catcher to at least compete for an Opening Day job or be an adequate fallback in case Bethancourt or Fortes suffer an injury.
