Interesting how they took a flier on Jose Castillo. They've already got an assortment of LHP relief pitchers (and that's even with AJ Puk hitting a brick wall) and they still got more on the way. (if Josh Simpson is healthy)

If they need bullpen help, it should really be a RHP. For now, they've found that help from within thanks to a standout performance from George Soriano, but they will likely need more come August. Shoving Edward Cabrera into the bullpen is sounding more and more like an appealing option the more I've seen from him. His frequent blisters is starting to be a serious problem, and they are hindering him from reaching his lofty ceiling as a starter. And IMO his stuff is far, far too good to be in AAA, where he has nothing left to prove.

But they don't really have anyone in the pipelines to replace him in the rotation. They would have to address that simply by trading for someone at the deadline.

Tick tock, Kim Ng. You're on the clock.

Why not let Soriano start? He may not be fully stretched out but he will give you more innings than Cabrera. Cabrera should go to the bullpen. He can probably pitch an inning every few days without getting blisters

I was not particularly high on Soriano entering the year and his AAA performance didn't stand out much either. But he is showing a lot of starter traits, at least enough to be a "2 times through the order" guy. Better version of Hoeing.
