The Eury Perez demotion did not make any sense. I'm not surprised that a player who was probably our best starting pitcher was optioned affected the teams morale. I hope he is recalled soon. There were ways to limit his innings and keep him in Miami. When players see management make stupid decisions like that they wonder what could happen to them even if they are playing well.

At a time when the pitching staff was already thin on reliable arms, it was deflating. Would've been more understandable if there was a clear long-term payoff or if there were specific reasons to worry about Eury's health, but innings management is just guesswork.
