I must inquire your comments on the Marlins internal options at catcher.

 

WIll Banfield is a draft bust. No sugarcoating it.

Austin Allen is a career backup catcher.

Bat-wise, Paul McIntosh is the closest to MLB-ready, but he's a 1B/DH type being called a catcher. That is, to say, his defense and game-calling at the catching position is horrendous.

 

Just my thoughts.

Banfield has taken interesting steps forward as a hitter this year. Not enough for me to forecast MLB success, but enough to make him my favorite of those internal options for 2024.
