  1. I see Morlando missed the start of 2025 with ulnar nerve transposition on his non-throwing elbow. What the heck is that? I keep my prior comment, this Org stinks at positional player evals. At some point it ain’t just bad luck.
  2. Hmm, I’m a lil sus when a young athletic guy needs “core muscle surgery.” A couple of years ago the Marlins trade for an athletic speedy/toolsy guy, Dillon Head and he immediately needs hip? surgery. You might disagree and these things can be completely unrelated but IMO this organization seems clueless in their evals of position players. Have any guys they’ve drafted flashed: Watson, Bleday, Berry, PJ Morlando? Bleday prob the “best” so far and he’s long gone from the Org.
  3. Glad to see Dane continue to hit, he just keeps getting better. I really hope the Fish hold onto and build with and around him. I do not want to see Dane traded to rot away as some other team's 4th OF. Myers is by far my favorite Marlin.
  4. Gonzalez went on to have a great career. If memory serves correct, the Marlins FO didn't think Gonzalez had the ceiling (30+ HR pop) he would eventually show. Can't question the trade since the 2003 season culminated in a WS, they don't happen often.
  5. Sandy on the bump tomorrow, if he doesn’t get positive results against a historically awful team then I’m convinced it just ain’t gonna happen for him. This is the only thing I’ll be looking at during this series. I’m not in Sandy’s head but a 6er start tomorrow and his season (career?) is toast.
  6. Congrats to Victor! The supposed lesser of the two Victors and happy for him as he's been in the org quite a while. And lo and behold, gets a hit in his 1st MLB at bat. Way to go Victor :)
  7. Yes I know. My key phrase being 2025 debut. Thank you for being critical. Go Marlins.
  8. Glad to find out that Eury has begun his live rehab, this means come 2nd half he may actually pitch at the MLB level at the jump right after the All Star Break, not making his 2025 MLB debut in August.
  9. Myers is my favorite player on the team, enjoyable to watch how he just gets it done. Thank you for interviewing Dane.
  10. Going to guess we're really looking at August then and as I imagine the Marlins modus operandi to be "rehab starts in the minors" prior to live MLB action. Perez giving it a go is one of the few things I have to look forward to with the Marlins and unfortunately having to wait until August blows.
  11. Where's Tyler Kolek when you need him? I hear Mike Hill is as high on him as he's ever been.
  12. Mike Hill was god awful too, was he considered the GM or team President? In Seattle we are not loving Jerry Dipoto as the Ms have perhaps the best rotation in baseball and yet haven't done anything this offseason to improve the lineup.
  13. In Philly he doesn't have to be that guy. He's arguably their 5th starter, which means almost 0 pressure to be better than average. Philly has a very good & proven rotation. True Ace - Zack Wheeler no.2 - Aaron Nola no. 3 - Ranger Suarez no. 4 - Christopher Sanchez no. 5 - Jesus Luzardo
  14. I don't like that Head is supposed to be a speed guy and at 20 years old has already had hip surgery.
  15. That is the million dollar question, whether or not any of these guys will have impact as major leaguers.
  16. Funny, as I was reading about Caba I was muttering under my breath was anyone ever excited about Adeiny Hechavarria. Wow! I can't get excited over a guy with 0 power and an too funny, as I was reading about Caba I kept muttering Adeiny Hechavarria under my breath. Wow! Yeah, I can't get excited about a guy with 0 power and an OPS of .670. That output just doesn't move the scoreboard and makes zero impact where it matters.
  17. "Potentially great pitching staff." What? You have two guys coming off of TJ and the other perhaps front liner is Luzardo who was flat out bad last year prior to getting injured and negating any possible trade value. Who are the other two, Ryan Weathers and ? I like your optimism and hope you are close to being right but the realist in me has to disagree until actually seeing it in the regular season.
  18. What exactly do the Marlins and Bendix do in the GM meetings? Hey, I'll trade you our 35yr old middle reliever who has a salary of $5M in return for a bucket of balls & fungo bat? Or perhaps a slap hitting C- Utlity IF "prospect?"
  19. So after trading Stanton, Yelich, Ozuna and Realmuto all the Marlins have to show for it is one good year and one great year from Alcantara. Ozuna has tipped that scale closer to even and if Sandy doesn't regain his front line starter stuff then really all 4 of these trades were down right awful. Well at least they got out from $tanton's millions but so what, they haven't exactly done anything with those savings.
  20. So we all knew Berry didn’t really have a position, and now you’re telling me the bat won’t transition either? Looking like a great no.6 overall pick. Fabulous.
  21. Hah, I had to look it up. At least for the era of kept records, Castillo #2 career after HOFer Rod Carew.
  22. Would love to see it as Luis was my favorite Marlin, loved how he'd turn infield singles into doubles with stealing 2nd speed. Not sure if it's a kept stat but I would be very surprised if he was not the leader in "INF Singles" during his run with the Marlins.
  23. You bring up a very good point that most of these trades will not matter in the Marlins favor, if who they brought back are average at best. For years this team has lacked someone who provides meaningful impact, a hitter that can move the scoreboard.
  24. A few thoughts: 1) Terrible that going into this season the big club was near awful and at the same time the Farm System even worse. How does that happen? I can't comprehend how a franchise can be terrible at both levels. Such a fail on the previous regimes. As an aside, though relevant for trading prospects for veterans, I still puke when I think that this Franchise once traded Josh Naylor and Luis Castillo for Andrew Cashner. 2) Not mentioned in this article, BUT Xavier Edwards is currently hitting .380 in ~ 100ABs, at what point do we consider this not to be a small sample size? If not done already, please do a write up on the Edwards' outlook as a full-time big leaguer. I need something to cheer for with this putrid team, even more so now that Dane Myers punched himself into injury. 3) In 30 years only two players in the history of the Franchise have moved the needle, D-Train and Jose Fernandez. RIP JF16. And more importantly, I hope those he took with him are at peace as well. Thanks,
