Nightengale did nothing other than refer to the old Luzardo news about being discussed with Yankees. Nothing new here. He was just filling an article.

I watched the DL game and Brujan was hustling, and he sure seems fast to me. As far as the Dodgers, I don't care who they sign as long as they don't win. Every year they don't win the WS (nothing less) adds pressure for them and great enjoyment for the rest of the league.

Hard to identify a surplus of starters when you have only Perez, Luzardo, Cabrera, Rogers, Garrett for your top five and only Max Meyer and perhaps Puk as potential backups.

Brujan isn't as fast as Garret Hampson and has been horrible in three trials with the Rays over the last three years. Unless Brujan does a full 180 this time around, the drop off from Hampson will be painful.

And Ryan Weathers! He really turned a corner in that final game of the season! 😂

But seriously, I agree. It looks like a "surplus" relative to some other teams who lost SPs to free agency and are reluctant to pay market value to replace them. In terms of what they'll need to compete in 2024, they aren't in a position to subtract anyone.

Meyers and Puk are actually needed for the pen, especially if Scott is traded. He's the one guy I could see the team moving.

Hi, everyone. Orioles fan here.

I'd like your thoughts on a hypothetical trade offer for Jesus Luzardo:

1B/3B Coby Mayo

2B/OF Connor Norby

OF Jud Fabian

Would you be happy getting these three guys in exchange for Luzardo? Or are you looking more for major league talent over prospects?

Thanks - I'll hang up and take your comments off the air.

Cowser, Basallo and Ortiz would match up with Marlins needs.

Personally, there isn't any (realistic) combination of prospects that would make me happy with trading Luzardo right now. Punting on the 2024 season before it begins would be demoralizing considering what they accomplished last year.

Somebody like Norby as the centerpiece of an Edward Cabrera trade would be more tolerable.

off subject. How much of Josh Bell's 2024 salary would the Marlins have to pay in order to get another team to take him?
