  1. It's definitely a smart move to monitor the number of innings he pitches. No more than 7 innings or 90 pitches, whichever comes first. Better that than to rush him into throwing complete games and he reaggravates an injury all of a sudden.
  2. Lemon City Live!!! 🍋
  3. I haven’t been to a fan fest in years. There’s a small chance I may be able to go at the last minute. Let’s see. I predict the city connect jerseys will be the Marlins rendition of Vice City. Other teams in South Florida are doing it so it feels like the Marlins are next to buck the trend. For the one Spring Training game I went to, I got a Chris Coghlan signature. I’ve had lots of success in the past getting autographs after Marlins games. I got lucky once and met Jose Fernandez.
  4. My prediction was off then. I’m convinced now that it’s going to be a jersey retirement of Mr. Marlin.
  5. Well said. Right now, I'd trust Jonah Bride a bit more for that starting first baseman role. Otto Lopez is a better contact hitter to put in the 2 spot. This team is going to hit the least amount of homers so they need to prioritize getting the ball in play in any way and stealing bags. My Opening Day lineup prediction: SS Xavier Edwards 2B Otto Lopez 3B Connor Norby DH Jesus Sanchez 1B Jonah Bride LF Kyle Stowers CF Dane Myers RF Griffin Conine C Nick Fortes
  6. A lot of those names are familiar to me, but they have all contributed to a whole lot of nothing (with the exception of Al Leiter, Derek Lee, and Carlos Delgado of course) Lewis Brinson has to be one of the biggest disappointments in Marlins history!
  7. My literal first reaction when I heard the news last night was “he still plays?” 😂
  8. If we're paying him a couple million, then might as well give him another shot. I just don't expect much to come out of him.
  9. Caba looks like a promising fielder. It seems like the Marlins have a tendency to acquire contact hitting middle infielders with no power.
  10. That’s a cool and unique way of representing their fathers. On another topic, why do so many baseball players change their numbers during the off-season? It doesn’t happen much in other sports.
  11. It gets harder for me to remember all these names. Before it was a bit easier when we’d retain players for a bit longer than we currently do.
  12. Pretty much. That’s always a given. Could be more if someone gets hurt.
  13. Hialeah!!!! Always great to see a fellow Hialeah native getting reps in the big leagues, especially when it's with the hometown Marlins.
  14. The jump from 198 to 220 for PJ Morlando has to suggest that he's trying to be more of a power hitter. At that weight, he's a bit heavy to be a steal-first kind of player.
  15. I'm excited to see the development of Joe Mack this season. He has the potential to be our first great catcher since J.T. Realmuto.
  16. I expected them to sign nobodies as well. It’s going to be the same sequence as last season. We’ll probably sign some cheap outfielder at the last minute just how we signed Tim Anderson right before Spring Training.
  17. Winning 55-60 games this season should be seen as a success for this ballclub. When they spend $0 on free agency, they shouldn't be surprised with the results they see on the field. It's unfortunate that this is the way management has decided to proceed.
  18. True. The rest of our players are on one-year deals. Forget about signing any high profile free agents. I want to see this team invest long-term on some of their promising players.
  19. It's an interesting choice to have Japan as a special guest since they're from the other side of the world. Coming off a World Baseball Classic title and having star talent on their teams, I feel like they have the best odds of winning it all this year in the Caribbean Series.
  20. Why did I have the slighest feeling that someone was going to turn their back on Ichiro? 😑
  21. Happy anniversary! The site is great, and everyone does a fantastic job running it.
  22. RIP Jeff Torborg The Dodgers sure do have the money to sign players. Their roster was already loaded with talent and now it's stacked even more. It wouldn't be a surprise if they run it back again and reach the World Series.
