  1. What's that old adage? "If you can't do it, teach it"? Something like that. If they couldn't "do it," can they at least "teach it"? I don't know what goes into hiring a hitting coach, pitching coach, or team coach but I hope it's been thought out. Sadly, it may just come down to luck of the draw or who's left.
  2. Good article. I didn't know about the grudge. Maybe that contributed to their losses. I hope the Dodgers win. I can't stand the damn Yankees, lol! (Esp since the Marlins are their farm team. We always send our worst players to them!)
  3. Boy! I'm sure glad we traded Stanton away! He was no good! We dodged a bullet there, man! Whew! We certainly got lucky we didn't keep him!
  4. Yeah, disappointing game but hey, the Fish did pretty well through 5 innings! Wish I was there for the final Loan Depot game! (Next year, I'll have to figure out how the train works to get down there) Good luck Marlins!
  5. I've only been watching baseball since 1991 when my now ex got me into watching the Braves down in Miami. When the Marlins came into existence, we became Marlins fans. I divorced her, she went back to the Braves, I stayed with the Marlins. I've always assumed that Paul was a good announcer. I would hate to see him leave but if he wants to go announce for his favorite team, I would understand that completely and wish him all the best!
  6. Yeah, I watched that game. (Unfortunately, due to programming restrictions, I had to listen to the Braves announcers instead of the Marlins announcers!) (HTF does that even make sense? I live in Augusta and can't watch my home team's announcers in Miami? Strange) Anyway, that was a sweet win! I really hate the Dodgers for what they did to us in the game before that but it's nice to play spoiler to Atlanta! Ha Ha!
  7. Yeah, that was a tough loss. The Fish battled back and did a pretty good job. What was Bell thinking when he tried to steal second in the first inning??? I don't ever remember him trying to steal a bag when he was a Marlin. Was he intentionally trying to help out his old club? Was he feeling sorry for us? I guess we'll take it. But it didn't help in the end.
  8. I saw that game on MLB TV. That 8-9-4-2 play was fantastic! Our guys are really playing with a lot of heart! Trying to be spoilers for other teams! Love it!
  9. Since I live in Georgia, I decided to go to the games to support my team. Unfortunately, I chose the wrong set of games to go to! But the second game was exciting for a bit anyway. I'm glad they pulled out a series tie!
  10. Why are you showing a video of Luis Arrez (sp?)? Did the Padres send him back to us??? That's wild!
  11. I'm surprised the Yankees haven't taken Edwards or Burger away from us yet! Aren't they allowed to move players back and forth from their farm teams?
  12. Is it too late to trade him to the Yankees? Maybe throw in Burger to sweeten the pot?
  13. With all these trades (14, was it?!), it's devastating to lose good players but I guess that's the business. I hated to see DLC go, loved that guy, but hopefully the trades will start to lead us to better years ahead.
  14. There we go. We make a pretty good farm team for the Yankees, don't we?
  15. That mound visit by Mel obviously worked wonders! (the very next pitch was the home run) Sweet!
  16. I cannot wait to see what the Marlins can get for Scott! Perhaps a minor league catcher to be named later?
  17. "at an inconvenient ballpark, on top of past spurious situations?" Sorry, I don't live in Miami anymore and have not been to the ballpark but plan on visiting sometime. Have been a longtime Marlins Fan since '93. I moved away in '97, but have continued to root for them. I don't understand why the attendance is so low as I watch the games on TV. What do you mean by "an inconvenient ballpark?" Just curious.
  18. Let's give 'em Jazz, Sanchez, Dane, Bell, Burger, um, anyone else? Maybe we can get a pitcher or two.
  19. G*ddammit. Why do all of our best players wind up playing for the Damn Yankees?! Are we just a farm club for them? That sounds like a great idea. We should just be a farm club for the Yankees. Like a Minor League team. Like the Jumbo Shrimp. The Jumbo Shrimp come to us, they get better, then move on to the Yankees. Sounds like a pretty good plan engineered by the Yankees. How did they get to be so smart? Or do we just have dumb management?
  20. I love to see the Marlins trading away one or more of their best players! It's really exciting! I'm only 55. I can probably wait another 20 years for a trip to the World Series. (total sarcasm)
