  1. But for Luzardo continuing to pitch like a dud - and Tanner Scott showing why he has no business closing games - the Marlins win this series. As for Jake Burger, I am sure the news won't be good - no matter what it ultimately ends up being. That being said, the Marlins do have guys that can play multiple positions - they need to put that to use now. And, it would be nice if they got themselves a real, non-lazy CF for once.
  2. Only 5 games behind the final wild card spot now. A small but significant step forward. Let this be the start of something...please?
  3. Good to see a tweak to the lineup, albeit a small one. The almost automatic DP combo of Arraez-Bell-Burger has been slightly tweaked. Bryan De La Cruz isn't necessarily the best option as far as speed behind Arraez - but it is certainly an improvement over having Bell and Burger directly behind him. Lets see if this reduces the amount of automatic DP's at the top of the order and can help the Marlins create some momentum to start games.
  4. Per sources(picture above) - I can confirm - Fish On First has officially made it big.
  5. Put Cabrera in the bullpen. The Marlins are in no position to run the risk of his inconsistencies continuing upon a return to the rotation.
  6. Marlins NEED to take 2 of 3(atleast). Tim Anderson MVP
  7. I always appreciate these prior to games.
  8. @Ely SussmanGet ready for a long winded post. Stick with me. DPs are already an issue for the Marlins through 4 games. I am remembering the interview you all had with Skip about the DP issue and the lack of a running game last season. I recall his kind of a cop-out for an answer. I am wondering if you all got to discuss with him prior to this season - how the team plans to improve on the running game/base-stealing aspect of their game? How to cut down on the DPs? What is being done behind the scenes to improve upon this? I don't doubt that they have worked on this - and continue to do so. For me, I think the biggest issue is the combination of Arraez/Bell at the top of the order. As good a hitter as Arraez is(struggling to start the season) - even if he gets on base - his lack of speed combined with that of Bell's it is a DP waiting to happen at the top of lineup. Arraez would be better in the #2 spot or 3. The options aren't the best - but the Marlins have guys like Anderson, Brujan, Gordon, I will even through in Bride - as guys probably better suited for the leadoff spot than Arraez. My criticism of the Marlins offense is not the lineup, per se - for me, the issue is the batting order. I don't know how this offense will be consistent when the order is just not ideal.
  9. Tough loss. Unfortunate to have lost the opening home game. This one loss is bound to drive away this lousy, bandwagon fan base. Marlins will have to bounce back tomorrow. Some observations on the loss: Took out Luzardo an inning too early. He was doing fairly well despite some struggles in the game. However, it was still early enough that he could have pitched at least another inning. By taking Luzardo out when they did - it put the Marlins in a less-than-ideal situation as they went into their bullpen. One more inning from Luzardo and the Marlins could better dictate how to use their bullpen. For Sixto, I was hoping his first outing after being away for so long - would have been a much softer landing. I didn't think bringing Sixto in with the game still in the balance was the best situation for him or the team. I love Skip and he usually does a great job of managing games, but this was just a poor performance from him tonight. As for bench usage, I won't jump on the bandwagon of attacking Garcia or certain guys not executing in the 9th/extras. In fact, I'm not in the bandwagon of attacking Garcia at all. If Luzardo/the bullpen is managed differently - the outcome might be different. A chance to bounce back tomorrow.
  10. Ready to go swimming with the fish in 2024 🐟🐟🐟
