  3. They did it! The 2023 Miami Marlins season felt over so many times, but they still found a way to win when they needed to, clinching a postseason berth on Saturday in Pittsburgh. By the end of the regular season, they were down to two reliable starting pitchers and had to play crucial games without Luis Arraez. The incompetence of the New York Mets grounds crew put them at an even bigger disadvantage. Despite that, they kept clawing back when you least expected them to. It's been an unreal improvement from last year and seems like they're having fun doing it. Live it up, Fish fans! 4. The Atlanta Braves are pretty much the best team in baseball and they've beaten up on the Miami Marlins throughout the season. But last weekend was a totally different story. With clutch hits from Jacob Stallings and Jake Burger and a pair of Jazz Chisholm Jr. grand slams, the Fish pulled off an inconceivable sweep. Be sure to go to the final home series against the Milwaukee Brewers and scream your heads off to support these spunky NL Wild Card contenders! 5. Last weekend's series win in Philadelphia over the big-spending Phillies was the latest reminder that the 2023 Miami Marlins are blessed by the baseball gods. Still in the thick of the NL Wild Card race! Sunday's comeback win was particularly thrilling. Held hitless by Ranger Suárez entering the seventh inning, unlikely heroes from the bottom half of the Marlins lineup stepped up. With every game being so crucial down the stretch, we're seeing the Fish play with a different kind of intensity, seriousness and discipline. 6. The Miami Marlins were held hitless throughout most of Friday's game, but they finally sparked a rally in the seventh inning. Two men on, no outs for Jesús Sánchez, who tripled to drive them in...with some help from the home plate umpire. The Fish ultimate lost, 7-4, and things are looking a little grim. But the Sánchez moment was a reminder that there's still "Marlins Magic" working in their favor. 7. Things have looked shaky overall for the Miami Marlins since the All-Star break, but there have been glimpses of their successful first-half selves in between, such as Sunday's stunning ninth-inning rally against the New York Yankees. Yuli Gurriel, Nick Fortes, Jazz Chisholm Jr., Josh Bell, Luis Arraez, Bryan De La Cruz and Jake Burger each did their part.
