Acquired via trade from the Cubs in January 2026

January 2026 update: Caissie was the main piece that the Marlins received in return for Edward Cabrera and a player they had coveted in previous trade negotiations. Repeating the Triple-A level in 2025, his swing decisions improved as did his ability to make contact on pitches outside the strike zone. In his first taste of major league pitching, the Canadian slugger struck out 40.7% of the time against a 3.7% walk rate. Both of those marks will obviously need to improve for him to be successful.

Entering 2026, Caissie is focused on improving his first step on defense. He currently projects as a below-average defender in the outfield corners.

Caissie has two minor league options remaining.
