I know a lot of so called smart baseball people say that the Marlins should trade Sandy. Well I strongly disagree. He is healthy after his surgery and he is under contract. Starting pitching is not easy to get so why would we give up a proven starter for some unproven prospects. Lets keep him and his leadership to help the Marlins pitching get better.

I also think the Marlins should not trade Sandy, nor Eddy. Here is my take: the team is a tad below average offensively, and with a few tweaks in the rotation and bullpen, there is a good chance this is a Wild Card contender as soon as next year... hell, even this year's contention is one or two bats away (3B and/or 1B), plus a bona fide closer.

If they decide to wait until next year, then why not get one or two players via Free Agency? The Marlins have the lowest payroll in the MLB. You literally cannot get any cheaper.

The farm system is not strong, but it's not that terrible either. That's why my take is to get prospects for all the veteran bullpen arms (Bender, Faucher, Bachar, Quantrill, if there is anyone interested...), and also Fortes... maybe Jeezy too, but I'd rather him to stay.
