Fish On First LIVE reacts to the news of Miami Marlins right-hander Max Meyer requiring left hip labral repair surgery. He posted a 4.73 ERA and 4.40 FIP in 12 starts this season. With a recovery timeline of 6-8 months, Meyer should be fully healthy in time for the 2026 season.

Keep your chin up, Max. So sorry that another young hurler goes down. Pitcher injury epidemic that's accelerating across baseball, it sure seems. It's allowed hoards of mediocre vets to hang around, bouncing from team to team, as everyone attempts to cover innings in the gruelling season.

Max Meyer: Drafted in 2020.
Players who were drafted after Max Meyer: Garrett Crochet, Pete Crow-Armstrong, Jordan Westburg, Masyn Wynn.

I've already gone over the 2019 draft on my Twitter/X profile.

Jeez, just how awful was D.J. Svihlik and Michael Hill?
