  1. Even if it makes the most strategic sense (which I am not always convinced by) this high turnover is also devastating for a fanbase. Is the proximal gain of trading away fun-but-not-excellent players like Jazz or Jake Burger worth the cost to the team's identity? How are fans supposed to root for players they barely even know, and don't have any positive memories of?
  2. You gotta imagine that the velocity drop is due to the injury and recovery. Question is whether it's an actual physical limitation or if our coaches told him to take it easy and throw softer stuff the command loss is alsrming but that may be exactly why he was sent to the AFL for rehab in the first place
  3. At this point, yeah I would. I love Tanner but he's of no use to us in this doomed season. I'm not certain if the Cubs themselves are the best choice for trade partner in terms of leverage, however. It's likely that at least one contender with a marquee closer loses them to injury--Royals with Chapman, Orioles with Kimbrel, etc. which would make them willing to overpay for Tanner. I guess the question is whether or not we trust Tanner to stay good for that long lol
  4. This was a great read, and sadly in line with what it's been like watching TA7 this seasons. It seems his eye is off and his bat speed isn't fast enough to compensate anymore.
