May 2025 update: Defrank received the second-largest signing bonus in the 2025 Marlins international signing class and the general consensus is that they got him at a bargain rate anyway.
Defrank's arsenal consists of a fastball, sweeper and changeup. His fastball has topped out at 100 mph in exhibition games and he has the physical projection to increase his velocity even more down the road. His changeup is "unusually advanced for his age thanks to its sink and fade," said Baseball America in their signing day report.
