Acquired via trade from the Yankees in March 2024
December 2024 update: Cruz's exceptional performance as a 17-year-old in the Florida Complex League compelled the Marlins to trade for him. However, still very raw and wiry, he was woefully overmatched in his first taste of Low-A competition, posting a 45 wRC+ in 81 games before being demoted.
