IKF at $5m? No. He is superfluous. We need additional players with this profile? Current options are just fine. Use the money elsewhere if it's burning a hole in the pocket.

IKF's infield defense is solid, but not at shortstop. He was a complete liability there with the Yankees, and I don't see it being any different for us. His shortstop defense was so terrible, they moved him into the outfield. Signing him would be a mistake the Marlins can't afford to make.

 

The fact the Marlins are linked to him at all is all sends the wrong type of message to their fans, especially considering the fact they have done absolutely nothing this winter to garner any kind of optimism.

 

Maybe as 3rd base depth, but not a guaranteed contract. And especially not 2 years guaranteed.
