  1. 1. WC prediction: Kempner is the best rookie RP. 2. Sandy, Eury, and Snelling log 130ip. Snelling ROY. 3. Bert plays 125 games and has an OPS+ over 120. 4. Peanut Butter/Jelly time! 5. I would love to see Sandy and Eury extended.
  2. ...or we could have just kept Weathers. LOL. I guess it's better than last year, since we now have 2 elite pitching prospects in AAA. I can see Paddack as a RP more than I could Cal Q if we can't fix his change.
  3. Bendix will be judged on the Weathers trade. Hopefully it works out for us because it wasn't necessary. Stats can fool you. This trade was more about projection.
  4. I'm sure we will draft some college pitching. The plan is White, Snelling, and Mack will be legit. Plus one of Caissie or Alderman. These lists change from year to year.
  5. The best investors sell high and buy low. Imagine the haul we would have gotten for Sandy after the Cy Young season. Instead we traded Pablo Lopez, who has produced more than double the WAR of Sandy. We have a plethora of SPs. There's not enough innings to go around. Snelling has nothing more to prove in AAA and White isn't far behind. Meyer looked great until he hurt his hip last year. Weathers also flashed top of the rotation potential. Brax has better career numbers than Ed. You can't keep them all.
  6. I agree that it's not a good time to trade either one, but that's not the point. I think Meyer has a higher value based on pure stuff, age, contract, options, and the fact that his inning limit will be higher this year than Brax. Are you sure about the options? I thought once someone was in arbitration, they are out of options. Can someone clarify? I think they could qualify for options due to injuries, but I'm just not sure.
  7. Gold glove caliber D. Comparing him to Nasim, the speed is the same, lower K-rate, higher OBP. I'm also giving him an injury pass on half this season. He hit .261 from July 18th on. Perhaps he could resemble some version of Ozzie Smith. I'm not saying he's a 13-time gold glover, but I've heard him called the best SS in ANY level of the minors.
  8. Hopefully someday with AI we have minor league WAR numbers.
  9. I would like to reunite with former Marlins org players Josh Naylor or Lewin Diaz. I'm also wondering if the Dodgers would be interested in dumping the Tanner Scott contract on us.
  10. Another 2B? SMH. Patience is a virtue. I think the deal gets done with Caissie. If they needed him, he would already be up.
  11. Yes, but that amount is to sell your soul for 4 years of crap MiLB salary, 3 years of MLB minimum salary, and 3-4 years of arbitration salary - only if you're good enough to not get thrown out with the trash. Just like the contract Sanchy chose to sign when he was a teen. The silliness is that our 20th rd pick just signed the same back-breaking deal for $5k. How much time do most of these guys put in a week to be great? 100 hours? Not being able to live where you want, eat what you want, and do what you want, sleeping in different hotel rooms with another dude a quarter of the year, all for the 1% chance they will sign a life changing deal in 10 years? Oh, plus you will probably have a surgery or two. No thanks.
  12. I just hope the Reds will be buyers.
  13. I did a quick analysis and found my top 2, considering I want some big bats who can play defense at the corner infield spots, and are MLB ready. They are: https://www.milb.com/player/jonathon-long-675085 https://www.milb.com/player/sal-stewart-701398
