In 43 games played during the 2023 regular season, Bruján led the entire league with 23 steals. He ranked second in walks (36) and third among qualifiers in on-base percentage (.405). Midway through the season, his MLB team, the Tampa Bay Rays, traded him to the Miami Marlins.
