Thursday was the deadline for Major League Baseball teams to exchange salary figures with their arbitration-eligible players. The Miami Marlins avoided arbitration hearings with five of the six players in their 2026 class, with reliever Calvin Faucher as the lone exception.
It is customary for arb-eligible players to receive salary increases from the previous year, even if they struggled. However, because left-hander Braxton Garrett missed the entire 2025 campaign due to Tommy John surgery, he has settled for an identical salary this season.
Edward Cabrera would've been the highest earner in Miami's 2026 arbitration class, but he was recently dealt to the Chicago Cubs. Cabrera settled at $4.45 million with his new employer.
