Marlins Video
It was a tale of two seasons for Jakob Marsee in 2026. The Miami Marlins center fielder was awful at the plate through much of the first half, but finished up the year looking like a well-rounded rising star. Marsee joins AJ Ramos and Kevin Barral on the show to reflect on what lessons he learned about himself during the process, how he's feeling two-plus weeks removed from undergoing internal brace surgery on his elbow, what he's admires about the soon-to-be World Series champion Milwaukee Brewers and much more.

In 155 games played during his age-25 season, Marsee slashed .231/.348/.359 with 11 home runs, 23 stolen bases and an 100 wRC+. His 2.4 fWAR led all Marlins outfielders.
During the last couple weeks of the regular season, Marsee describes being in pain every time he threw the ball. The Marlins announced shortly after the season finale that he would be visiting Dr. Keith Meister for a consultation. Meister performed Marsee's operation on October 12.
Speaking to Fish Unfiltered on Wednesday (16 days post-op), Marsee is still wearing a bulky brace, but "it's going a lot smoother than expected so far," he says. "I didn't realize how quick I'd get my range of motion back."
His goal is to be ready to play by Opening Day, whenever that may be.
