Svihlik was hired by the Marlins in November 2017 and ran their MLB Draft operation from 2019-2023, selecting JJ Bleday (No. 4 overall pick), Max Meyer (No. 3), Kahlil Watson (No. 16), Jacob Berry (No. 6) and Noble Meyer (No. 10) with his first-round picks.
